This week I learned how to draw a 3D shape in a 2D form. we draw all the sides separately to make sure we don’t get mixed up with the faces. Then we would pass it to someone else to see if they could find what shape it was.
The next week we tried fold nets of 3D shapes but I couldn’t get what shape my net was. After we got our nets we made predictions. Then we started making our shapes. Finally we reflected if our predictions. This will help me draw a diagram of a building. I was stumped on what shape my net was .I couldn't find a way to find what shape it is so I choose another one. How are 3D shapes useful to the world ?

Drum roll, please! The Grade 5 students have written and decided upon their best central idea for this year's Gr. 5 Exhibition. After some great thinking, they have chosen the central idea to be: A better world depends on our actions. We have been discussing our top three interests in depth with our peers, family, and teachers to help guide the students in choosing a final choice of interest for their exhibition. Today we thought about how one of our topics is connected to the real world and what might be the issues or challenges connected to that topic. First we looked at our closest community, ourselves and our family, to think about how our interest is connected to us on a personal level. Then we looked at our school community, Singapore as a community and the world. Here's an example we worked on together.
