We had our Sports Day for 2015 to 2016. We ran, long jumped, raced (50m) and(200m), and threw javelin and shot put. So we needed to throw really far or run very fast to win. Then someone needed to measure how it was long or who was first, second,or third. The team with better scores had more points to win. I learned the meaning of javelin and shot put because I never did that sport in my own country.
This was my first sports day in life. I really liked the sports day because it was like a competition. There was about 4 teams - Somerset,Raffles,Orchard and Newton. The team with more points was the team that won the sports day.

This week was a really interesting week! A new girl named Koharu came to our class and she is Japanese!
We presented our family migration presentation, everybody's was so interesting. We had to talk about migration happening in our families. I had fun to talk with my family members because their stories were really interesting. We then put everything to a google slide and we used icons so it will look interesting! This week we are also investigating about migration happening all over the world and we are going to make a creative presentation with it! I’m making a giant cube! Most of my classmates and I have to take the work home because we didn’t finished! Are we going to finish on time? I would of picked a more easier country to investigate about because mine is kind of hard. This is a important thing to learn about because we can help people who are migrating all over the world.I learned that the Hungarian government built a fence because he didn’t want any more countries migrating to Hungary.I am curious when was the fence built? We are all worried about the hays going on, if it still goes we maybe won't be able to do sports day! I wonder what house is going to win in sports day? We learned about the migration this morning.I think we all did about migration. We make a group Yutaro,Max,Yeon bi,Ricardo and me.This was happening in real world. What we did is the migrants was in the boat but it sink in the sea. They escaping because of war and want to have a better life in Europe. They are from Africa. I feel sad because a lot of people die and sink in the sea.Why do the migration people have a risky trip? In 5.2 we are learning how to read to someone now. Our teacher Ms. Thomson has created a way to read to our partners. It called EEKK! It stands for elbow to elbow and knee to knee. Plus we need to have a whispering voice when reading. Even today our stamina is to 24 minutes! How we read to self is we read the whole time, stay in one spot, get started right away and work quietly. How we read to someone is we listen or read. The listener has to retell the who, what and where. If they didn’t understand they would read it again. We are all excited to read to our partners the more fluent we are we are sure we will become better readers! Some students are learning a new language but that’s why we are at school,to learn! I wonder if there’s a time limit to read to someone? |
